Contouring is a makeup technique in which light and dark tones are used to enhance, define, refine or conceal features. What is sought is to sculpt the face by playing with lights and shadows. We must have our face prepared and choose the colors that best suit our skin tone.
- The first step will be to apply the dark tone that will give depth to our face. This will go in the area under the cheekbones to the ears, across the top of the forehead (beginning of the hairline), on the temple, along the jawline, and down the sides of the nose.
- Next, let's apply the highlighter. In this case, the product should be applied to the lower part of the forehead (near the eyebrows), under the eyebrows, on the septum of the nose, on the cheekbones, on the upper lip, on the chin and in the region between the lower part of the cheekbones and the outline of the mandible.
- Now it's rouge's turn. This should only be applied with small touches in the middle of the cheekbone between the illuminator and the darker tone while smiling with the mouth closed.
- Finally, and with the help of brushes or sponges, the illuminator must be blurred and then the darker tone. For an ideal result, it is advisable to apply translucent powders to better set the make-up.
